THEMACS was at ESA, the European Space Agency.
ESA has received the prototype of an emissivity measuring device for temperatures ranging from ambient to 20K.
The European Space Agency trusts THEMACS for devices in cryogenic conditions.
THEMACS has just delivered a measuring head capable of measuring thermal emissivity from 20 to 400K.
Emissivity measurements are essential for the thermal control of satellites and spacecraft. This is why ESA has chosen to acquire an emissivity measuring device from THEMACS Ingénierie.
This device allows the calorimetric measurement of the total hemispherical emissivity. In this type of device, bringing the device and the sample to temperature can take several days. With this new device, it only takes a few hours to reach the desired cryogenic temperature.
The first tests are conclusive and should lead to a second version more efficient and especially with a more user-friendly interface.
